SCHOMP SUBARU COMMUNITY CARE KITS

Critical Needs Pack Project Benefiting Aurora’s Homeless Population

As a part of the annual Subaru Loves To Care initiative, this year, Schomp Subaru partnered with several Aurora-area shelter facilities to obtain and assemble packs of items that Aurora’s homeless population needs the most, such as socks, various sanitary products, chapstick, and sunscreen. We worked closely with three Aurora centers, mentioned below, on a distribution plan for these packs and we were also able to partner with several other organizations in the area for additional distribution.

Kit Assembly Day – June 21

The Schomp Subaru Volunteer Team stuffed 1,200 convenient, water-resistant waist packs with crew socks, sunscreen, lip balm, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, lotion, and sanitary wipes at the Schomp Subaru North Showroom on Monday, June 21. Then on Monday, June 28, we distributed the packs to the centers in need all across Aurora.

Subaru Loves to Care

Subaru is on a mission to prove that we’re more than a car company.® The Subaru Love Promise is our vision to show love and respect to all people at every interaction with Subaru. We should all have a chance to lead a healthy life and we’re aiming to give as many people that chance as we can.

We believe in being a positive force in something bigger. And it all starts right here in our community. Not just by our donations, but by our actions. Every day, we strive to ensure our love is felt not just by our customers, but by all in our community. We do this because we feel it is the right thing to do. We’re grateful, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve and support the causes and passions that are closest to our hearts, right here in our neighborhood. All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.

St. Francis Center

St. Francis Center (SFC) is a refuge for men and women who are homeless in the metro Denver area, providing shelter along with services that enable people to meet their basic needs for daily survival and to transition out of homelessness. St. Francis Center’s programs and services are tailored toward adult women and men, and focus on daytime shelter, social services, health and wellness, housing, employment, and outreach. At SFC, guests have the opportunity to work with a variety of specialists, depending on their individual needs, which is often the first step toward transformation and ultimately self-sufficiency. In addition, SFC’s Outreach Program serves people who are experiencing homelessness and congregating in visible areas in Downtown Denver, such as on the 16th Street Mall, surrounding parks, and hidden campsites not intended for human habitation.
